First Monark in Illinois
This is the very first Monark to arrive in Illinois from Inter-Trends. The date was the first week of June 1972. It was uncrated and assembled by Wally Wallenberg (pictured above) and Hans Dammstrom at Hans' Volvo repair shop in Illinois. When it was brought home to our house my Dad posed with the bike as shown here in our driveway. I raced it on 6-10-72 and won my very first time on it. The picture of me holding the trophy in the Monark ad was from that day.
