One of Swedens most successful motocross riders, Ove Lundell was born in M?klinta and moved to Varberg when he was only 23 years old to become a factory rider for Monark. At the age of 15 he begun riding the walls of death together with his father. He had then practiced alot with only a bicycle, acording to himself alot harder than a motorbike! He performed his show under the name Ove Wilmer.
Many of Ove's victories where during the 1950's - 1960's when he became Swedish Champion several times.
1955 he was awarded "Stora Grabbars M?rke" (free translation: "Big Boys Award" !) by SVEMO. He also won Champion des Nations for Sweden three times.
1953 Ove left his Club in Sala and became a factory rider for Monark in Varberg.Arriving in Varberg he where one of Monark Team that made the Blue Arrow and the Blue "Stinget" legendary.
The Monark factory let Ove design and build bikes after his own mind and many victories where won on these bikes. Ove became Swedish Champion 1955,1958 and 1960. A few years later Monark stoped making the famous Monark 500 cc bikes and sold a number of them to the Lito factory. There they where painted green and got a new Lito logotype, but in construction and under the paint they where still Monarks.
In the end of 1960's and early 1970's Ove held well recognized motocross camps for Monarks 50 cc motocross riders at the Anneberg motocross track in Varberg.
He started racing with veteran bikes in 1984 again and never stopped doing so until he passed away September 2001 after a short period of cancer.
